Disconnect to Connect: Practicing Mindfulness in the Workplace

(Leadership, Personal Development, Employee Engagement topic)

Do you find yourself distracted at work and at home? Do you fear that you are not working to your full potential with your team or as a leader because of workplace misunderstandings? Are you empathetic as a leader and seek to understand others’ perspectives? In this session, we will take a deep dive into understanding where we are off balance in our lives -- both at work and at home -- and how this affects the experience we create with others.

Many of us can feel that we are technically up to speed in what we do; however, we are not living up to our full potential as leaders or co-workers because we lack the skills to mindfully connect with one another. Mindfulness is the practice of being fully present in the current moment and learning how to calmly observe our thoughts and feelings without judgment or action. By learning to disconnect, we can connect in a more intentional, positive way and find common ground with those we work with and care about. Through the daily practice of mindfulness, we can gain a better understanding of where we are off-balance internally so that we can show up better for those around us, be more successful leaders and feel more engaged as an employee.

In this session, you will:

  • Gain a clear understanding of what mindfulness is and how to practice it;

  • Learn to evaluate your work-life balance and the work-life balance of your employees;

  • Understand how to improve employee engagement and well being;

  • Discover a couple of quick and easy meditation practices for mindfulness in the office;

  • Learn the most effective office/desk yoga stretches for clarity and focus.

Workplace Mindfulness Speaker Testimonials

"Valuable information that is pertinent to the shift as to how work fits into our lives. I am a baby boomer and I think that the new view that life is more important than work is correct and hope that young workers everywhere can achieve a better balance. We should all still put a value on pride, competence and some "old school" concepts but merge them, with help from Amy, with the use of mindfulness and other approaches to be productive, successful, happier and more appreciative of others for a better life."

William Cregar (William G. Cregar, CPA)

“Amy’s mindfulness series was exactly what we needed during these weird times. Her five part series taught mindfulness in a way that was relevant, immediately applicable, and approachable for those who may be new to the practice. She took the concept one step further than it is traditionally presented and incorporated it into time management and personal branding. I cannot recommend Amy and her B³ Method enough!”

30-Minute to 1-Hour Deep-Dive Mindfulness Sessions

Being Present to Be Productive - Incorporating Mindfulness Into Our Day

Do you find yourself distracted at work and at home?

Do you fear that you are not working to your full potential with your team or as a leader because of workplace misunderstandings?

Are you empathetic as a leader where you seek to understand other perspectives?

Many of us can feel that we are technically up to speed in what we do, however; we are not living our full potential as a leader or a co-worker because of lacking skills in how to interact with one another. Mindfulness is the practice of being aware of what is happening around us and finding common ground with those we work with and care about so we can create better results in business and at home. Gaining a better understanding of identifying where we are off-balance internally can help us show up better for those around us, create more success as a leader, and be more engaged as an employee.

Be More Present to be Productive: Intentional Time Management

Many of us lack focus on taking care of our well-being and overwork ourselves each day which often causes us to feel depleted. When all of our energy is directed outward to work and family, we can create a drastic imbalance in our lives.

Over time, Amy came to her own realization that without balance in her life and finding time for herself to re-energize and focus, she couldn’t reach her potential in her career or what she desired in her personal life. That meant taking an honest look at all aspects of her life, the good and the bad, and intentionally making time to do the self-exploration she needed so she could be better for those around her.

In this session, you’ll learn how to Mono-task vs. Multi-task, discover ways to regain your energy and improve your focus during the day and learn how to eliminate distractions caused by technology. Ultimately, you’ll learn how to stop over-working and instead learn to work smart instead

Learn How to Meditate: How to Use Your Natural Abilities to Alleviate Stress

Too much to do at work and at home? Learn how to take a quick break and refuel yourself throughout the day to be better for yourself and the people around you.

Have you ever wanted to learn more about meditation or just want to set time aside to do it during your workday? Join us for a Meditation, led by Amy Vetter, from The B³ Method Institute to help you get started.

In this session, Amy will dispel the myths around meditation, teach you how to begin and how to incorporate meditation into your day, as well as, lead a brief virtual meditation. You will find that once you make this small change in your life, it will help you reset and be more present for the people you work with and those you care about.

Your Personal Brand: Staying True to Yourself

Your personal brand is how you represent yourself to the outside world -- friends, family, and colleagues. It can be tempting to put on a mask -- especially with social media, but it’s not authentic and people see through it and may not relate to you at work or personally.

Rather than worrying about your real personality coming through in how you portray yourself to the world, instead, embrace it, and intentionally review what you put out into the world and the experience you create. You may find that people start responding to you differently because they are attracted to people that are authentic.

Once you begin to connect on a more human level, you can create a meaningful relationship, whether in business or at home.

Nurturing Your Soul

Many of us feel we know who we are, but it’s not always easy to stay in touch with our souls. Your soul is the part of you that consists of your mind, character, thoughts, and feelings.

Recognizing our souls requires effort and attention so we can, in turn, maintain our Bliss. Often we want to change who we are, or feel we need to. But it’s important to identify who you are innately, and then work with your natural state rather than trying to change who you are and not achieving a realistic outcome.

How we each experience these areas of our lives, along with the work we do to be aware and adjust along the way, helps us work toward creating greater inner peace and eventually, Bliss.

Being Authentically You: Tap Into The Power Within You To Create the Life You Desire

We all grow up with certain beliefs - assumptions and convictions that we hold to be true, regarding concepts, events, people, and things. Sometimes these beliefs are so deeply ingrained in who we are that we never even consider questioning them. But what if these beliefs don’t actually align with who we are? Once we break free of the messages in our heads we can then start the journey to Business, Balance & Bliss and to becoming a Connected Leader. Amy Vetter, from The B³ Method Institute, will share insights to help you to uncover what message is ingrained from someone else versus what you truly believe or how you want to show up in the world. Get ready to be courageous, aware, and inquisitive to get to your inner truth.
